SITUATION ANALYSIS
The Administration of Criminal Justice Act was enacted in Nigeria in 2015 to address several challenges in the administration of criminal justice process with a view to enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the justice delivery system in Nigeria. The passage of the act and implementation into the criminal justice system was still slow and the challenges were still persistent
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
The study was aimed at obtaining citizen assessment of the human right compliance by key actors as well as countering violent extremism in Nigeria.
RESEARCH APPROACH
The study was conducted in thirty six states (36) including Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. The basic methodology employed for data collection was the in-home, face-to-face personal interview using stratified multi-stage random selection procedure in order to achieve a nationally representative sample for the general public and SnowBalling/Purposive sampling was used for Special Public. A nationally representative sample of 7,307 general public was selected and interviewed while 3,700 special public were interviewed, this category included police, Prison officials, lawyers (prosecutorsanddefencecounsels), judges and judicial staff, users of the criminal justice system
